I think I look forward to NaNoWriMo a little more every year. Two weeks to go! I’ve been counting down the days since August, I think.

I’m excited about the story for this year. I’ve done an uncharacteristic amount of planning for this one and it’s so different from anything else that I’ve worked on. I’m curious to see where this one will go.

I’ve also planned a few nifty things! If you look to the left of this post, you’ll see a little blue box with my name and ‘littleflowerlei’. That girly is a friend and writer buddy of mine. She and I are entering a Word War. We won’t stop till the story is done and  there will be blood. There will be tears…there will be only one victor! No not victor…winner! I’m not that barbaric….most days. :)

Anyhow, it’s just a friendly competition we have going. Not sure what we will do for the winner. May have to work that out and add an update to this post when that happens. Perhaps slave labor is too medieval?

Another thing that I have planned and am excited for is posting my favorite excerpt on Facebook. Each day, that I actually manage a word count, I will post my favorite scene, line, excerpt, etc. Something will get posted pertaining to the story!

I will also follow my routine from last year and post my word count for the day here, on my site, as well.

And last but not least…If I manage to somehow win in the same number of days it took me to win in 2010 (or before—and that means hitting the 50,000 word mark), I will be giving away a free Kindle version of Heart Song to a random fan on my Facebook. So, hurry and become a fan already!
