Utmost

I’ve always heard it as “upmost” and even seen it used that way. So, I learned something new with this one!

(adjective) 1: situated at the farthest or most distant point: extreme 2: of the greatest or highest degree, quantity, number, or amount.

There were things that were known and taken as truth. But none considered the utmost details and facts. They laid in plain sight, easily overlooked, as most important things are.  I saw them. They saw me too. They blinked at me,  smiled, and remained still. Their eyes held trust. They knew I wouldn’t say anything. What would I say, anyway? How could I explain what everyone else  failed to see?
